Worfield & Rudge has a Parish Council serving its community at a local level and hopes to benefit every local resident is some way.
Whilst it is a thriving Parish, it is necessary to work within its tight budget and to make best use of the finance available to it.
The Parish Council will meet during the year to discuss grant applications that have been received.
Each request for financial assistance will receive an application form. These will need to be completed and returned to the Clerk to the Council one full week before each Full Council meeting. Should this deadline be missed, then the request will be held on file until the next meeting. In exceptional circumstances the Parish Council reserves the right to consider a request between Full Council meetings.
Financial assistance can only be made available under the statutes and powers in place that enable the Parish Council to issue grants in such a way. However the Parish Council has limited funds to distribute to benefit the local community and electorate of the Parish and as such, the Parish Council limits every application to £500.00 per organisation per annum, however the Parish Council reserves the right to increase this for a grant if the Parish Council has resolved at its meeting that the grant will benefit a substantial amount of parishioners and/or requires further funds to deliver the project proposals as set out in the grant application form.
Grants cannot be given to individuals. The Council shall only provide grants to registered charities or not-for-profit voluntary groups who have a constitution, this is to ensure grants are awarded to groups who practice good governance and can display a good standard of financial management. Cheques or electronic payments must be made payable to an organisation or group (and not to an individual).
Completed grant applications must be returned in full either by post or scanned copy to the Clerk at Lilac House, Mossey Green, Ketley Bank, Telford, TF2 0DL or clerk@worfieldandrudgeparishcouncil.gov.uk
